I built a full AI platform at 55 with no CS degree. If someone like me can do this, what happens to everyone whose job is being the technical expert?

I learned to code with AI at 55.

Not because I wanted to become a developer, but because I needed to understand what AI could actually do.

I spent six months building Hubalot.com—an all-in-one AI hub with shared memory—because I was tired of jumping between ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini and having to re-explain my context every single time. I built it solo using a mix of those same tools plus Cursor. No computer science degree. No bootcamp. Just a lot of trial and error and asking Claude and ChatGPT to explain things until they made sense.

At first I thought this was amazing. Look what's possible now. Anyone can build software.

Then it hit me differently.

If someone like me, who studied finance and only has basic coding knowledge from running My Yoga Online, can build a working platform in six months completely solo, what does that mean for everyone whose job is being a technical expert?

A lot of people are about to feel like their skills don't matter anymore.

But here's what I think the real shift is. It's not about technology. It's about strategy.

The people who are going to do well aren't the ones who master AI tools the fastest. They're the ones who know what's worth building in the first place. What to focus on when you have infinite options. What actually moves the needle versus what just feels productive.

I wrote a book called Strategic Instinct. I started it years before AI became this dominant, but it feels more relevant now than ever. It's about trusting the patterns you've already seen, even when everything around you looks completely different.

I've started running sessions with founders and business owners navigating this shift. Not to tell you what to do, but to help you see what you're avoiding or what you already know but haven't acted on yet.

If you're trying to figure out your next move in all this, I'm around. https://strategicinstinct.ca/get-strategic
